BEFORE you order...

Take a minute to answer the following questions:  These answers will ensure that the DataFerret will work for you.

1.  Is the computer to be captured a Microsoft Windows PC or Laptop?  If not, please call AmDoc directly to talk to a DataFerret Representative.  (1-800-455-1599).  AmDoc will have the Lab prepare a customizable DataFerret to fit your needs.

WHAT are your service options with the DataFerret

Capturing the drive is only step one of the DataFerret process.  You must return the DataFerret to the Lab to retrieve the captured image.  The DataFerret is not meant to be an archiving tool for the end user but a capture device which is returned to the Lab for further processing.  Once the capture is completed, you have several extraction/storage options.  You must select at least one extraction option when you return the DataFerret to the Lab.  NOTE:  If you are using the DataFerret to preserve data, you may opt for the Lab to store the image on your behalf for a specified amount of time.  (See Additional Services below.)

Extraction Options:

Option Description
EnCase File

Extraction and transfer the image to an EnCase File.  This Option provides you a complete file set of all of the files on the computer.  The extraction is provided in a standard EnCase E01 file format.
