All steps lead to the desired outcome:   Being able to quickly and accurately retrieve specific information when needed. There is no other reason to convert paper documents to images. 

Once all the document preparation, numbering (if desired), scanning, indexing, text conversion and any other specific tasks that might be needed are complete, the pertinent files must be prepared for uploading the information into the desired retrieval system.  This may be simple, or it may require a large amount of data manipulation. The process depends upon the retrieval system requirements. Some systems are fairly straight-forward; others are extremely complex to prepare the upload file.

Once the upload file is created, it is transferred to the proper entity who will load it and test the files for completeness and correctness. 

NOTE:  End users should be notified that new information is available for their use, unless a regular upload is scheduled.
