Karen UngerSince founding American Document Management in 1990, Karen Unger has received numerous awards that attest to her expertise in entrepreneurship, computer forensics and electronic discovery, and document management needs.  in 2007, Karen received the rare Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) designation, one of fewer than 800 such designees worldwide at the time of her certification.

In both 2004 and 2006, the South Florida Business Journal honored Karen with the recognition of BusinessWoman of the Year, Entrepreneur in Technology Services, and the same journal awarded her the Technology CEO of the Year in 2005. In 2002, the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce (Delaware) named Karen Entrepreneur of the Year.

Karen founded AmDoc after being the Director of Operations for two national litigation support firms. Specializing in handling multi-million page cases, she worked on many diverse projects involving matters such as savings and loan closures, environmental issues, hostile takeover action, real estate disputes and construction.

Karen is active in both community and industry organizations. She is on the Greater Fort Lauderdale Board of Directors, as well as serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for PACE Center for Girls (Broward).  She regularly speaks at law firm, legal, and technology seminars nationwide. Her speaking engagements include the Association of Information and Imaging Management (AIIM), the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), Imaging Expo, Data Processing Managers Association, and the Association of Systems Management. She has published articles in the National Law Journal and ARMA newsletters.  

Karen is the recipient of the South Florida Business Journal's CEO of the Year, as well as the Businesswoman of the Year (Technology).


 

Ron Perkins has served as Chairman of American Document Management since the company’s founding in 1990. Ron is responsible for corporate finance and investor relations.

Ron has over thirty years of management and marketing experience in the healthcare and business services industries. His experience includes managing operations and marketing strategies for organizations with over 2000 employees and budgets in excess of $250 million. In these positions, he was also responsible for risk management serving as liaison to internal and external counsel.

Ron spent 30 years as a health care professional, including clinical and management positions.


 

Pat Schaefer is the Vice President and a shareholder of American Document Management. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing AmDoc’s several production facilities from a global perspective including financial reporting, project implementation, human resource management, and information services management. Pat works directly with the national sales team in new business development. She began working for AmDoc's Indiana office only one month after its startup in 1997 and has played an intricate role in its development.

Pat brings seven years of legal experience to AmDoc. She was a paralegal for National City Bank, Indiana's Law Department where she gained invaluable experience in corporate law, budgeting, and litigation and management software development.
